I've also had motivational problems with my art. Oh, I've been working on them. Just with no real success, at least to my thinking. I have quite a few works in progress, but I've been to lazy to post them. Wow do I need some sort of refresher time.
Well, I'll be getting it! At the end of the month I'll be taking a week in South Carolina to visit a friend of mine. She's been begging (maybe too strong of a word) me to come visit for years now and I'll finally be doing just that.
My OCD kicked into full swing today after I booked my flight and the trip became set in stone. Research had to be done into the crazy things they make passengers go through these days and the things we aren't allowed to have (like, now you can carry ONE regular lighter, no torch lighters, however you may not have loose extra batteries. Actually, you can, but you have to put tape over the metal connectors. *sags* wtf is wrong with things these days?), then research had to go into how one goes about the e-ticket thing and baggage check, also the time frames you have to do these things in (you have to e-check-in within 24 hours of departure, you have to check your bag more than 30 mins before your flight - 45 in atlanta - and you have to be ready to board 15 mins before your flight), none of which told me how long it takes to get through security and such now a days.
After I learned all the things I figured I needed to know (things such as you CAN take knitting needles, however they should be circular needles with a combined length of no more than 31" and should be made from bamboo or plastic, not metal. I'm pretty sure if I was determined to hijack a plane by threatening to stab someone with my knitting needles I could cause as much damage with bamboo or plastic ones as I could with metal ones, and I'm sure shorter ones could still puncture and artery, at the very least take out a few eyeballs.) I set to making lists of things I needed to pack (yes, three weeks in advance I'm doing these things) and what could go in the carry on and what had to go in the checked luggage (which now costs $15 and is not free, must be less than 50lbs and a linear length of no more than 62". Gods how am I supposed to pack a weeks worth of clothes in there?!) and what I have to do before I leave (like finish this commission by the end of the week and finish at least one large pencil piece and clean the bloody house!).
It seems that it's more stressful getting ready for a "relaxing" vacation than it is to just stay home and deal with normal everyday stressors...

Perhaps soon I'll stop being lazy and do a journal update rather than just plopping a fast message here...
